A message from the Elders

“It is our pleasure to bring you an update about the search process for a new lead pastor for Emmanuel’s Barrie campus. It has been a year and a half since our previous lead pastor, Rick Buck moved on to a different role with FEB central. As you might recall, the elders have been deliberate in taking an appropriate amount of time to adjust as a congregation to this big change and to carefully, prayerfully work through a careful search process for a new lead pastor. Thank you to all of you who have been faithfully praying over the past year for God’s provision in this process.

At the beginning of 2021, the elders established a search committee and we would like to say a special thank you to them for their dedication, hard work and prayer over the past 10 months. Thank you Ian Shaule, Lori Penrice, Paul Kerr, Kathy Slessor, Dave Chantler, Warren Morris, and Greg Steffens for your service to God and to the church.

Following a lengthy process, the search committee has submitted their recommendation to the elders for the new Lead Pastor of the Barrie campus. The Elders have accepted that recommendation and are pleased to present to the congregation for their prayerful consideration, Pastor Josh Davy.

We believe that Josh is an outstanding candidate and has been providentially placed in our church family for this season of ministry. Josh has been a wonderful shepherd to our church family, and we’ve been truly blessed by his ministry. His Godly character will fit well into our current staff team as well as with the culture and make-up of our congregation.

Regarding the next steps, Josh’s name will be presented again at our Church family meeting next Sunday evening where there will be a Q & A session with Josh. If you have questions for the elders board, the search committee, or Pastor Josh, please submit them to Pastor Randy. We can answer some questions personally and some for the Church family meeting Q&A.   Electronic ballots will be emailed to all voting members immediately following the Church Family Meeting and you will be able to vote anytime throughout the following week. If you prefer, you will be able to vote in person here at the church Monday to Friday 9-5 as well as Sunday morning October 31

Over the next two weeks, we ask you to be faithfully in prayer about this recommendation, reach out to Pastor Randy, the elders or search committee members to ask any questions you have so that we can be properly prepared to vote by the end of the month. We eagerly desire to follow God’s lead for our congregation and look forward to watching how He will provide as we move forward.”
