Dear Emmanuel Barrie,

We are excited to share with you that Pastor Luke Crawford has felt the call of God to move into a new area of ministry and will be transitioning out of his youth ministry role and into a new role as our Pastor of Outreach & Missions. We have been searching for a Pastor to fill this role since Pastor Josh accepted the role as our Campus Lead Pastor. We are encouraged by God’s leading in Pastor Luke’s life to point him to this new role. We know that with Luke’s background as a missionary kid and his passion for outreach that God will use in this new role at Emmanuel. We are so grateful to Luke and how he has led our Sr. High Youth over the past 6 years. Luke will be fully transitioning into this role by September.

Many of you who are invested and have a heart for our Youth Ministry will be wondering what this will mean for the Sr. High in the Fall. And looking back, we have seen God preparing us for this transition for the past couple of years. We have sensed God’s leading to focus our youth ministry on discipleship and leadership development. The work that Sarah Mudde has done throughout this past year in building leadership teams within our youth has opened our eyes to the value of a more focused internship program. Our plan is to build on this experience by bringing on new interns who will be overseen by Pastor Dave Chantler. Dave’s role will shift to include both Jr. High and Sr. High ministry as Pastor of Student Ministries. Dave has an incredible history and vision of growing leaders from within our Youth and Day Camp programs. Adding an Internship Program will help us build up strong Christian leaders to serve both here at Emmanuel and beyond. We are so blessed by how God has gifted Dave in this area and believe that every area of ministry at Emmanuel will benefit as a result!

With these role changes will come some changes for both our Jr. High and Sr. High ministry programs in the fall. Therefore, we are holding a Youth Ministry Information Night on June 21st at 7pm for anyone who would like to hear about these changes and what the vision for youth ministry looking forward will look like.

Please join with us in sharing our thanks and congratulations to Pastor Luke as he steps into his new role. And please be praying with us for Pastor Dave and the youth ministry team as they plan for the school year ahead.
