Van Ministry: Driver (church van)
As part of the Van Ministry at Emmanuel, you have the opportunity to serve those who are often unable to join us on Sunday mornings and who are regularly shut in. By offering your time on Sunday mornings you are able to love on those individuals by helping them be able to attend church in person, build community and leave their homes for a little while. This ministry is often not noticed by many, but for those who use our Van Ministry it is a great blessing on Sunday mornings!
In this role your responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
+ Pick up the church van at the church
+ Pick up a set list of passengers and bring the to the church.
+ Drive your passengers home following the service
+ Drive safely and adhere to the rules of the road
+ Avoid distracted driving of all forms while transporting your passengers
Commitment: 2-3 hours on Sunday morning based on a rotating monthly schedule.
Requirements: Attendee of 6 months or longer. In addition, please note the following requirements/expectations:
+ You must be a minimum of 25 years of age with 5 years of driving experience.
+ You must hold a Class F license
+ Potential drivers will be asked to:
– Be Safe churched if transporting children or vulnerable adults.
– Be asked to sign a Safe Driving Statement provided by the church.
– Do a road test with our transportation coordinator
– Submit a driving abstract β available through Service Canada
– Confirming no more than (2) minor traffic violations in the past 3 years
– Confirming that they have no at-fault accidents in the past 5 years.
