Safe Church Interview Team
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 45 minutes between services, as needed 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: By becoming a Safe Church Interviewer you are helping our children, youth and seniors to stay safe while attending our events and programs, and you have the opportunity to get to know others in the church as you discuss their life as a Christian.
Van Ministry: Driver (Church Van)
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2-3 hours on Sunday mornings with a rotating schedule. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This role is an opportunity to be involved in a ministry that is often not noticed by many, but for those who use our Van Ministry it is a great blessing on Sunday mornings by helping them join their church family at church.
Usher
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2 hours on Sunday mornings, based on a rotating schedule. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The Ushers are an essential part of a welcoming and smooth-running Sunday worship service. They greet everyone at the doors and act as a host for their section of the worship centre and offer support and connect to those who attend.
Welcome Desk Crew
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2 hours on a rotating Sunday morning schedule. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:The Welcome Desk Crew are the friendly information nerve centre on Sunday mornings. They get to know newcomers and hand out gifts for first-time attenders. This crew helps our church family register for events and programs, as well as make suggestions and answer questions of people looking to get connected at Emmanuel.
Coffee Time
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2 hours (includes attending a service) on a rotating Sunday morning schedule 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Coffee time volunteers work behind-the-scenes to prepare the coffee and tea for Sunday services. This fellowship ministry is part of our larger Welcome Teams, and is a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere on Sundays.
Snow Removal
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 1-3 hours on a rotating schedule for Sunday mornings. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Serving in this role you will help shovel and salt the sidewalks around our church building on Sunday mornings in the winter. Snow removal is so important to our church family because it helps individuals feel safe as they come into our building in the winter.
Widow Care Ministry
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2-3 hours monthly. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: A very unique that involves investing in the lives of others mainly through regular phone correspondence. These phone calls are so important to the widows in our church as we check in on them to see how they are doing physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Prayer Ministry
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Various opportunities and commitments. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Prayer is wonderful gift that we have to be able to lay our requests and needs before God. The prayer ministry has a variety of opportunities to pray over our ministries and others.
Gardener
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Occasional based on your availability. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: An individual who enjoys being outside, getting their hands covered in dirt and perhaps has a natural green thumb would be a great fit for this role. Gardeners help us maintain our gardens at the church and create a beautiful welcoming exterior throughout the warmer months of the year.
Library Team
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2 hours on a rotating Sunday morning schedule. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Our library is a wonderful community space and a tremendous resource for our church family. Whether you want to enjoy a good read from our Christian fiction selection or need some resources to answer some questions the library team is there to help!
Life Group Host
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 1 ½ - 2 hours weekly / bi-weekly, for at least one year. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: As a Life Group host, you will have the privilege of investing in 8-12 others as you open your home for your Life Group meetings. By helping in this hospitable way, you will be allowing your Life Group leader to focus on the preparation and leading aspects of your weekly studies together.
Van Ministry: Driver (own vehicle)
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2-3 hours on Sunday mornings with a rotating schedule. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This role is an opportunity to love on individuals by helping them be able to attend church in person and build community with other believers.
Parking Crew
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2 hours every three weeks on Sunday mornings. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Parking crew members warmly welcome people as they arrive at Emmanuel. They assist in a variety of ways at the entrance and in the parking lot, including directing vehicles, helping folks exit and enter the van ministry, and occasionally clearing snow from the entrance and walkways.
Skilled Labourer
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Occasional based on the needs of the church. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Do you have training as a skilled labourer? We would love for you to use your gifts, talents and time to help take care of our church property. Your skills are needed and are a blessing as they care for our church property allowing for everyone to enjoy and to honour God.
Funeral Baker and Sandwich Maker
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Occasionally for a couple of hours 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: As a funeral baker you are on a standby list, where you will be called by one of the funeral committee ladies when they need baked goods following the funeral service. By being part of this standby list you are serving grieving families in a tangible way by providing baked goods for the funerals.
Bloom Mentor Mom
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: about 2 hours, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday, from September till May. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Bloom Mentors are the relational glue of this outreach ministry. Bloom exits to encourage and inspire moms with young children. Bloom mentors are experienced moms and grandmas who share the love of Christ by being a kind ear, a gentle guide and positive influence.
Kitchen Help
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 2-4 hours at various times during the year. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Our kitchen workers are an integral part of ministry at Emmanuel. If you love working with a team, behind-the-scenes, to host and feed people, you'll enjoy serving in the kitchen.
Joy Fellowship Cook
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 6 hours on the 3rd Thursday of the month (October-June). Additional hours may be needed for planning and shopping. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Part of the monthly program for Joy Fellowship includes a hot lunch prepared and provided for them. In this role you would plan, shop for and prepare this lunch with the help of other volunteers.
Joy Fellowship Lunch Team
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Minimum of 3 hours on the third Thursday of every month. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: As part of the Lunch Team, you will either help prep, serve or clean up during the hot buffet lunch you and your team will provide the seniors with.
