Small Group Leader
Join the fun on Sunday mornings in the Woods (our children’s ministry wing) Our small group leaders in partnership with the Large group teachers have the privilege of introducing the children to the God who loves them and the Saviour who died for them. Small group leaders are responsible for 6-10 children in a specific age group and often serve with another team member. The pattern of our mornings is 10 minutes of small group followed by 30 minutes large group and then concluding with another 30 minutes in small group. (To better build relationships and promote consistency, our preference is for small group leaders who can serve every week in 1 service and attend the adult service in the other. Alternatively we welcome those who can lead 1 week on, 1 week off or 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.)
In this role your responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
+ Lead the small group component of the morning routine using the curriculum guide for children from a specific grade
+ Prepare your lesson the week before you lead.
+ Answer questions that the children may have and be willing to look into the answers for them.
+ Serve alongside the other volunteers to encourage, disciple and love the children who attend on Sunday mornings
Commitment: 1.5 hours on a Sunday morning plus lesson preparation time during the week
Requirements: Safe Church Training, an attendee of Emmanuel Barrie for a minimum of 6 months.
