It is with great joy that we bring you another very special update on our Angus Church Plant.

After receiving multiple resumes and engaging with potential candidates, we are excited to announce that we have hired our Church Planting Pastor for Emmanuel Angus. While we had feelers out all across the province, to our delight, we found him at Emmanuel Barrie. The Planting Pastor for Emmanuel Angus is David Mann, along with his wife Sarah!

David went through numerous rounds of an extensive interview process. He and Sarah also went through FEB Central’s Church Planter Assessment. Their desire to serve, passion for the lost, and heart to see a strong evangelical church in Angus shone through, time and time again.

In addition to his ministry at Life 100.3, David has always been very involved in service at Emmanuel. Of note, he has been part of our Operation Timothy leadership development group, and he served as the interim director of our Centred Young Adults ministry prior to Pastor Matt Maw’s hiring. David is a visionary leader and an evangelist at heart. Sarah is a warm-hearted, people-oriented servant of the church. In addition to being involved and serving in many of our ministries, she also served as Emmanuel Barrie’s Day Camp director for 4 years.

David will join Emmanuel’s staff team this September, where he will begin training and planning for the planting of Emmanuel Angus. His first few months will focus on ‘knowing and being known.’ We anticipate that the Core Team for Emmanuel Angus may start to be formed as early as January of 2026. While we are likely still about a year or so away from an official launch of Emmanuel Angus, hiring our Planting Pastor is a big step towards that goal.

Let’s praise God together for His gracious provision of this wonderful couple to lead the way in the planting of Emmanuel Angus! Join us in praying for David and Sarah as they transition into this new role.
