A caring, genuine and intentional adult of any age is a great fit for this role! This role is very unique as it involves investing in the lives of others but through regular phone correspondence. These phone calls are so important to the widows in our church as we check in on them to see how they are doing physically, emotionally and spiritually. The desire is that no widow is left alone in our church family, but instead they have those who commit to investing in their lives. One verse that motivates us is found in 1 Timothy 5:5 “The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help.” Those who serve in this role seek to both be an answer to these prayers by coming alongside the widows we know, and praying with them for God’s help in their lives.

In this role your responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
+ Phoning widows regularly to genuinely check in on their well-being and to love them well
+ Read Scripture together and pray together on the phone
+ Possible opportunities for in-person visiting may occur

Commitment: Monthly commitment of 2-3 hours.
