We are committed to being a trustworthy environment.

Our Safe Church program is one way we care for our vulnerable populations at Emmanuel. Each volunteer who serves with children, youth, individuals with disabilities, and seniors is required to complete these steps. All are welcome to attend the training, even if you are not currently serving in Children or Youth ministries.

Below we list the steps in this process and provide the necessary links. In addition to the steps listed below, please note that applicants need to be in regular attendance at Emmanuel for 6 months or longer before being able to serve in a role that cares for our vulnerable population.

SAFE CHURCH PROCESS

Application

This form is a way for us to learn about your spiritual journey, gather some security information and collect references from you.

Training

A fast-moving, relevant training session for all volunteers (age 12+) who serve with anyone under the age of 18 and other vulnerable individuals. This mandatory, once-in-a-lifetime event (you only ever need to attend one training) will equip and encourage you. This training is free, but registration is required.

Police Check

A Vulnerable Sector Police Check will need to be submitted as part of the process. You can take the Volunteer letter below to your local police station (or online if your district allows).

Interview

A short interview is conducted with two individuals. This pair is made up of lead volunteers. This interview goes over your application and is a place where we can help you find a place to serve. These interviews commonly happen between Sunday morning services.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you find a place to serve!
